Crusade

Centre for Rural Systems and Development (CRUSADE), founded in 1991, works closely with communities to alleviate poverty and to bring about sustainable changes that improve the lives and livelihoods of the poor. CRUSADE works in around 200 villages in four development blocks of Minjur, Sholavarm, Ellapuram and Gummidipoondi in rural Tiruvallur district, north of Chennai, covering 250,000 population.

CRUSADE transforms communities

CRUSADE works with the most vulnerable communities in four blocks of Tamil Nadu –Sholavaram, Minjur, Gummidipoondi, and Ellapuram, providing tools and resources to address their challenges to build secure, productive and just communities.

In the four blocks that CRUSADE works, there’s poor healthcare facilities, women lack the resources to become change agents, people with disability face dearth of opportunities to surface to the mainstream, and the absence of environmental awareness.CRUSADE is on a mission to bring a change.
